awareness, personal relationships,
parent contact.

atmosphere, self-help skills,

Breakfast is to be served as children
enter the classroom.

Individual & small group table
activities before and after breakfast:
lotto games, books, manipulatives,
crayon drawings.
Small motor coordination, pre-math
and pre-reading skills, the ability to
make choices and develop personal
relationships.

Group Meeting

 

Circle time, group discussions,
followed by planning time in small
groups.
To help children express thoughts,
ideas and feelings verbally.

Choice Time

Choice time
Work & activity time- individual &
small group activities. Exploration
and use of interest areas: art, science,
manipulatives, library, blocks,
family, woodworking, music, sand
and water and computers.

knowledge & expand concepts,
problem solve, develop personal

Cleanup and transition- cleaning of
work areas, straightening shelves,
putting away equipment and
materials in proper place.
Responsibility for appearance of
environment, care of materials,

Preparation for outdoors and
toileting
Self help skills, safety, and
developing good health habits.

Large muscle activities, creative
movement, outdoor play or
neighborhood walk (or a
combination of these) - based on
weather conditions and center site.
Physical development & specific
skills, spatial awareness, self
expression, music & rhythm skills,
relaxation, expansion of children's
knowledge and understanding of
the world around them.

Story time in small groups.
Listening skills, receptive language,
vocabulary, imaginative thinking,
love of book.

Rest time - children who do not
